We invited Marian Beke from the Gibson Bar for November's Martini Club. The Gibson has consistently been rated in the top 100 bars in the world over the last 3 years and is now celebrating it's fifth year.

On 20 November, it is also World Gibson Martini Day, and a global celebration of the Gibson Martini.

Members of Martini Club were invited to purchase one or all 3 signature Gibsons, which were as follows:

House Gibson Martini

The Gibson Martini

  • Copperhead Gin Gibson Edition, Del Professore Pickled vermouth with house double-pickled onion, lemon zest, parmesan cheese.

Redistilled Gibson Martini

Redistilled Gibson Martini

  • House Gibson Martini that's been sitting and marinating for at least 72 hours with extra flavours of pickled onion, lemon zest and pickling spices and then redistilled, resulting in a savoury yet naked style of Gibson.

Aged Gibson Martini

Aged Gibson Martini

  • Old Tom gin, Del Professore Pickled vermouth, aged solera system in ex-balsamic barrels for 6 months. Served with truffle & smoked onion.

Each came in a beeswax-sealed 250ml bottle which had 2-3 serves in each, and the Gibson's wonderful house-pickled onions and cheese was also supplied.

On the Martini Monday Zoom club meeting, Marian then set about a 1.5 hour masterclass on the Gibson, along with some Q&A. This is a master class like no other, and the level of detail, care and attention is a perfect example of what it takes to be a top bartender and why we value them so much, and why we adore the Gibson Bar.
